Dear Friends,

Tomorrow is Election Day. We have been campaigning for over a year now, so I can't help but feel a little nostalgic today as the campaign comes to the close of the primary season. So allow me please to recap all we have done and what needs to be done going into tomorrow.

First, thank you.

Thanks to everyone of you for your prayers, your work, your financial support and your selfless sacrifice of your time and energy on my behalf. I am so humbled by your support and honored that you would believe in me to the degree that you have in this campaign.

I remember when we started this campaign over a year ago. We had no name identification, no database, no money, no game plan, etc. The established political order gave us no chance. But an interesting thing happened, slowly but surely our campaign team came together and we started the process of building an old fashioned grass-roots oriented campaign. We hit the road early and started meeting the people and learning the issues. We started building a database and starting building a base from scratch. We sought financial assistance from our supporters and they met every need. And success followed.

Straw Polls:
We won 13 straw polls held throughout the campaign. While these cannot be overstated, each victory helped build momentum and credibility to our campaign at crucial junctions. Each victory showed what we were seeing on our travels throughout the state, the nucleus of a strong grass roots oriented movement that we could mobilize on election day.

RV Tour: The RV tour has been a huge success, enabling us to travel to over 45 counties over the last 35 days of the campaign. We have heard over and over during this campaign that the voters are tired of being taken for granted. We wanted to show them that we cared enough to take our message to them and do so on their turf. Many thanks to all of you in the field who made this tour so special. Great memories, great friends and a solid foundation laid for the closing days of this campaign.

Endorsements:
We have been overwhelmed by the support that has come our way in this campaign. Following are just a few of the individuals and groups that are supporting us as we approach election day:

As such, we did not lend the campaign any personal money. In comparison, two of our main opponents loaned themselves over $200,000 each respectively and the other main opponent financed the bulk of his campaign through a third party "Super Pac". We are proud of the financial support we have received and again it is a mark of a true grassroots campaign.

Recent Polls and Working the Polls:
Over the last week and a half, five polls have been released by various media organizations. We lead in two, are in second in two and in a close third in one. Either way, all the polls are saying the same thing, that we are in a statistical dead heat for the lead in this race, with the race probably headed into a run off scenario. As we have been saying for months, this race will go down to hundreds of votes between the winners and losers. We must trust the work we have done over the last year and finish strong. What can you do? Work the polls. Spend today recruiting people to work the polls tomorrow. The latest poll still shows 31% of the voters as undecided. Most people will go to the polls tomorrow not knowing for whom to vote for Lt. Governor. The poll worker you recruit will make a difference. Recruit poll workers! We have hundreds of people lined up around the state to help. Add to their numbers and less win this thing!

Thanks again for all your efforts! One more day! Go vote! And give us one more day of hard work!

Photos from the 2nd District Convention by Dan Forest
