Hi, my name is Deb Bamford and I am very pleased and excited to accept the invitation to serve as the Cabarrus County Chairperson for the Dan Forest for Lt. Governor Campaign.

Family
My husband Bill and I met in Los Angeles while attending Bible College. Upon graduation in 1987, we moved to the Harrisburg/Concord area and have lived here since that time. We have been married for 26 years and have raised two really great kids. Our son, Chris (23) is an assistant manager at Chick- fil-A and loves to play ice hockey (goalie). Our daughter, Candace (20) is a student at Rowan Cabarrus Community College and plans to transfer to Virginia Intermont College next year to enroll in their Equestrian Studies Program (yes, she rides and has her own horse). I jokingly tell parents that if the sport or hobby begins with the letter 'H', it's going to be expensive :) But honestly, we consider the time and money invested into their lives to be money well spent.

Interests
At this point in my life and I would say that there are several things that I am particularly passionate about. I greatly enjoy laughter and bringing out the laughter in others. I believe it is stated somewhere in the Bible that 'laughter does us good, like a medicine'.

As a Christian, I absolutely love listening to and worshiping God through intense praise and worship music. This is how I take advantage of my hour long commute time to work each day (a great way to prevent road rage:).

Activist
I love the United States of America. I am deeply concerned about what is happening to this country; the assault on our Constitution, freedoms, rights, and liberties. The attempt to replace our Republic form of government with Socialism and the growing threats to our safety because of terrorism by Islamic Extremists.

As a result, almost three years ago, I made the decision to become as actively engaged in the political process as possible. Here's what I have done and what I am currently involved in: *volunteered in three campaigns: Congressional (8th district), local Sheriff, and Concord City Council *joined Cabarrus Republican Women *I am the Precinct Chair for my area and a Precinct Coordinator for Cabarrus County GOP *attended rallies and conferences in Concord, Raleigh NC and Washington DC *joined the local tea (taxed enough already) party group and Americans for Prosperity (AFP) a state and national organization *donate time and finances to campaigns and other like minded organizations

So, there you have it, a bit of information about me. I am looking forward now to working together with the rest of the 'Run Forest Run' crew over the upcoming weeks and months to elect Dan Forest as our next Lt. Governor of North Carolina!
