Steve Forbes Endorses Dan Forest for NC Lt. Governor Campaign

(Raleigh, NC) -- Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media and two time Presidential candidate, today endorsed the campaign of Dan Forest, Republican candidate for North Carolina Lt. Governor.

In a recorded statement issued throughout the state, Forbes stated the following:

"The challenges facing North Carolina and our country are the same...fiscal irresponsibility, excessive regulations and high taxes. Steve Forbes to Campaign for Dan Forest for Lt. Governor

(Raleigh, NC)-- The campaign office of Dan Forest for Lt. Governor today announced that Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media and two time Presidential candidate, will travel to North Carolina to keynote a fundraising reception for the Dan Forest campaign on Sunday, May 6, 2012.

The event will be held on May 6, 2012 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at Zebra Restaurant in South Charlotte.

Under Mr. Forbes' leadership, Forbes Media has launched a variety of new publications and businesses. The company's flagship publication, Forbes, is the nation's leading business magazine. Mr. Forbes campaigned for the Republican nomination for the Presidency in both 1996 and 2000.

Santorum for North Carolina Grassroots Coordinators Endorse Dan Forest for Lt. Governor

Raleigh, NC) - The Dan Forest for North Carolina Lt. Governor campaign today announced that all three former statewide grassroots coordinators for the Rick Santorum for President campaign in North Carolina have endorsed his campaign for Lt. Governor.



The three former coordinators are as follows:





Lori Bardsley (Alamance County)

Trish Stukbauer (Mecklenberg County)

Chuck Campbell (Wake County)



"I am humbled and honored to have the support of the North Carolina leaders of the Rick Santorum campaign. We have built a strong grassroots presence throughout the state and their support just strengthens our outreach efforts even more," said Forest.



Dan Forest is seeking the Republican nomination for the office of North Carolina Lt. Governor. A former senior partner and office president of the state's largest architectural firm, he is making his first run for elected office. Dan and his wife Alice and their four children reside in Raleigh. He is the son of Congresswoman Sue Myrick.

Dan Forest takes lead in Lt. Governor's Race

(Raleigh, NC)-- According the latest polling released yesterday by Public Policy Polling, Dan Forest has opened up a lead in the race for Lt. Governor, while polling double digits in 4 out of 6 regions of the state (the only candidate for Lt. Governor to hit that mark).

"It looks like there are two early tiers of candidates in the Lieutenant Governor's race. Dan Forest with 11%, Dale Folwell at 10%, and Tony Gurley at 9% are 5 points clear of Grey Mills at 4% and Arthur Jason Rich at 2%. Forest seems to have the most statewide support, polling at double digits in 4 out of 6 regions of the state. Folwell and Gurley only hit double digits in their home bases of the Triad and Triangle respectively. 65% are undecided." - Public Policy Polling

Dan Forest wins 6th Consecutive Straw Poll

(Charlotte, NC) - Last night, at a packed meeting hosted by the Mecklenburg County Young Republicans, Dan Forest, Republican candidate for NC Lt. Governor, won a straw poll for the office of Lt. Governor capturing 83% of the vote. Actual vote percentages are below:

Dan Forest: 83%

Dale Folwell: 14%

Tony Gurley: 2%

The victory marked the sixth consecutive straw poll won by Dan Forest during his bid for the Republican nomination for the office of Lt. Governor.

Dan Forest for Lt. Governor Names Velvet Shelton as Statewide Tea Party Coordinator

(Charlotte, NC) -- Dan Forest, Republican candidate for the office of North Carolina Lt. Governor, today named Velvet Shelton as his statewide Tea Party coordinator. Shelton is currently serving as the Surry County chairman for Forest's campaign. Shelton is a devoted Tea Party member who joined in the early days of the movement. She is also an active member of the Surry County Republican Party, where she has served on the executive committee.

"Velvet Shelton is an enthusiastic Tea Party Republican committed to Conservative politics, and I am pleased to have her as the statewide Tea Party coordinator for my campaign," said Forest.
