Jeff Bordner, site manager of Windshear Inc., gave us a tour of his company yesterday.
Jeff describes the special tires they use for testing.
Staff members ready the car for testing in the wind tunnel.
We met with all of the Windshear employees.
While being tested in the tunnel, a car can experience winds up to 180 mph. This is a "rolling road" tunnel in which the car sits on a treadmill-like belt. The car is also mounted on a rotating table that helps to simulate going into a turn.

Jeff Bordner talks about the facility.
Randy, with the special tire coating he designed. One great aspect of this company is that they encourage their employees to innovate and help make the company more efficient.

Since the the tunnel's treadmill belts are made of 1 millimeter thick stainless steel, the company must keep extra belts on hand in case one is damaged.
