Well, what a race!  I personally would like to thank all the volunteers that helped Linda Johnson and myself in the primary here in Catawba County.  You are the reason that we are all here working together to make a better tomorrow for our families and future generations.

You ran a great race, Dan.  Well thought out and planned by Hal.  We all finished strong.  To those I have met along the road so far, I am grateful and honored to be standing with you along side the Forest team.  Now, it is time to win the runoff and then general election in November.

While it is impossible to appropriately say "Thank You" in a blog post, I will give it a shot.
Thank you to the countless volunteers who have sacrificed countless hours for this campaign!
Thank you to the many people who sacrificed financially to this campaign.
Thank you to the 100's of faithful poll workers who made the final hours of the campaign as strong as the first hours.
Thank you to my friends who have been praying for us for months.
Thank you to all the supporters of our campaign who encouraged us along the way and showed their trust by voting for us yesterday.
Thank you to my campaign manager, Hal Weatherman, who is a brilliant strategist and great friend.
Thank you to my kids who have sacrificed their time with dad for the past year.
Thank you to my beautiful wife and best friend for standing by me every minute of every day - I could not and would not do this without her.
And of course, Thanks to God for the strength to keep going day after day.

I am so proud and honored to be associated with each one of you, and pleased to call you friends. Keep the faith, keep working for freedom and truth and keep running the race.

Congrats to all the winners throughout the state last night (May 8th).  I would like to invite all those supporters of the other Lt. Governor candidates to join the Forest team.  Dan is a conservative businessman that will represent us all well.

Dan sprinted to the finish line with a landslide victory in Cleveland County by a whopping 53.24% with 4,165 votes.  Yeah!!!
