Dan Forest is the first Republican Lieutenant Governor to be elected in North Carolina in over 20 years, and only the second since 1897. Dan is a registered architect. He and his wife, Alice, reside in Raleigh with their four children, ages 9 to 21. After graduating from the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC) with a degree in architecture, Dan became a leader in the business community having served as Office President and Senior Partner of the state's largest architectural firm - Little Diversified Architectural Consulting.
As Lieutenant Governor, Dan serves as the President of the North Carolina Senate and serves as a voting member of the State Board of Education, the State Board of Community Colleges, the state Economic Development Board, is chairman of the eLearning Commission, a member of the NC Military Affairs Commission, a member of the Special Committee on Digital Learning, and the newly appointed chair of the Energy Policy Council.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys anything that includes spending time with his wife and kids.
